Girard Gibbs LLP is based in San Francisco, but operates nationwide. Our practice is devoted exclusively to class action and complex litigation. Our clients range from individual consumers and small businesses to large corporations and public pension funds.

Since the firm was founded in 1995, we have recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for our clients. In 2001 alone, the firm played a leadership role in obtaining the largest all-cash settlement ever of a class action under the Communications Act (MCI Non-Subscriber Rates Litigation), the largest all-cash settlement ever of a case brought on behalf of credit card holders for unfair marketing and billing practices (Providian Credit Card Litigation), the largest settlement ever achieved in Delaware Chancery Court, (In re Digex), and one of the largest securities class action settlements ever (Prison Realty Securities Litigation).

We feel that the firm's size is ideal to serve clients—large enough to fully staff the exigencies of cases, yet small enough to foster a team approach to cases, which in turn allows for an energetic interchange of ideas, ensuring the professional development of our young attorneys. Perhaps more important to our clients is that because we specialize in only a few areas of law, we achieve a high level of competence in those areas.
