Da Vinci Surgical Robot

While the Da Vinci Surgical System promises minimally invasive surgery, it has also allegedly caused many problems. Since 2009, multiple lawsuits have been filed against the manufacturer of the Da Vinci Robot Surgical System, Intuitive Surgical. According to a study published in the July edition of American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, patients may not be getting adequate information about the risks associated with this new type of surgery. Many California residents have taken the anti-diabetes drug Actos, which has led to serious side effects such as bladder cancer. Individuals who have been diagnosed with bladder cancer after taking Actos are filing lawsuits in California state court. More »

On April 19, 2013, defendants removed a lawsuit filed in California state court in Los Angeles County to federal court in the Central District of California. The lawsuit, Nunez, et al. v. According to St. Jude Medical, patients with St. Jude Medical Eon and Eon Mini implantable pulse generators (IPGs) have reported problems with their devices. In response, St. Jude issued product recall notification letters for Eon Product Code 65-3716 and Eon Mini Product Code 65-3788 to patients and physicians. More »
