Germany bans Actos following French Actos study
Germany’s Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices recently banned Actos, a drug used to treat type 2 diabetes. The announcement came after a French government study found a link between Actos & bladder cancer, which led to a similar ban on Actos in France. Following these announcements, Britain also issued an Actos safety update.
The activities in Europe have increased calls to issue an Actos recall in the United States, although the FDA has only gone so far as to approve new labeling requirements for Actos.
