The Barristers Club of the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) will host its annual open house this Tuesday, April 28, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at the BASF on Battery Street. The open house will provide new attorneys with an opportunity to network with Barristers Club members, meet the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of the Club’s various committees, and learn about upcoming Barristers Club events and ways to get involved. On July 19, 2011, 73 former professional football players sued the NFL for failing to take reasonable actions to protect players from the dangers caused by concussive and sub-concussive head injuries and for concealing those dangers from the players. Gibbs Law Group Attorney Phyra M. McCandless recently moderated a panel entitled “Views from the Front: Plaintiffs’ Perspective on Toxic Tort Litigation” at an annual meeting of the American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (ABA-TIPS) Toxic Torts and Environmental Law (TTEL) Committee. Ms. McCandless recruited distinguished and experienced toxic tort plaintiffs’ attorneys from across the country to speak at various panels at the conference, held on April 9-11, 2015, at the Arizona Biltmore. SAN FRANCISCO, CA — On April 8, 2014, the law firm of Girard Gibbs LLP filed a federal class action lawsuit against Catalina Restaurant Group, Inc. and Food Management Partners, Inc. on behalf of restaurant workers terminated from employment at Coco’s Bakery and Carrows locations within 30 days of April 3, 2015. The lawsuit alleges that Food Management Partners acquired Catalina on March 31, 2015, and closed approximately 75 Coco’s and Carrows restaurants the next day. More »
