California Yaz Lawsuits Filed
Many California women have suffered side effects after taking Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella birth control pills and have decided to file a lawsuit their California state court. Yaz lawsuits have been filed in several different counties in California, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Bernadino, and Orange County.
Cases that involve a common issue of fact or law (such as injuries allegedly relating to the use Yaz and Yasmin birth control) are sometimes filed in more than one California county based on where the parties live, do business, or the incidents occurred. Under certain procedures and with the agreement of all of the parties, these cases may be transferred to a single court much like with the federal Yaz and Yasmin Multi-District Litigation. These are then referred to as Coordinated Proceedings.

A: Yaz and Yasmin are prescription birth control pills. Yaz has also been indicated to treat symptoms of PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) as well as moderate acne. Q: What are the differences between Yaz and Yasmin?
A: Yaz and Yasmin are combination birth controls that use the hormones estrogen and progrestin. All three birth controls use the progestin hormone known as drospirenone, or drsp. Yasmin (generic Ocella) was the original birth control pill to use drospirenone. Yaz is similar to Yasmin and Ocella except that it uses less estrogen and uses a 24/4 day cycle, while Yasmin and Ocella are 21/7 day cycle birth contol pills.

A: Yaz and Yasmin are manufactured by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals and originally developed by Berlex Laboratories, which is now owned by Bayer.
