Transvaginal Mesh Lawyers
Investigating Transvaginal Mesh Cases Nationwide
Girard Gibbs is currently investigating cases of women suffering serious health complications after receiving transvaginal mesh, or TVM, implants. Our mass tort attorneys are investigating reports of serious medical problems arising from transvaginal mesh implants that include:
| • Mesh erosion | • Reoccurrence of pelvic organ prolapsed |
| • Mesh contraction | • Vaginal bleeding |
| • Infection | • Pain and other complications |
| • Urinary problems |
Although these devices have been around for some time, recent scrutiny from the FDA, scientific literature, increasing reports of serious medical complications, and a growing number of lawsuits have raised awareness about these products and the serious health risks associated with them. Some examples of transvaginal mesh device manufacturers and their products include:
- Johnson & Johnson: Sold as Gynecare, Gynecare TVT, and Gynemesh.
- American Medical Systems (AMS): Sold as Sparc, Perigee, Apogee, and Elevate.
- C.R. Bard: Sold as Avaulta and Pelvitex.
- Boston Scientific: Sold as Pinnacle, Advantage, and Uphold.
Transvaginal Mesh Lawsuits
A number of transvaginal mesh lawsuits have been filed alleging serious and potentially life-altering injuries as a result of complications associated with vaginal mesh. The lawsuits come on the heels of a 2008 FDA Public Health Notification and a 2011 FDA Safety Communication, which brought attention to the potential for serious injury when using transvaginal mesh products. Lawsuits have been filed in numerous courts across the country.
In addition to the lawsuits, some are calling for a recall of transvaginal mesh devices.
